The City Council of Bloomington heralded the 25th anniversary of the Bhopal Gas tragedy by passing "Resolution 09-21 Recognizing the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the Bhopal Disaster and Calling for a Report on Extremely Hazardous Substances Previously Released into the Local Environment" on the evening of Dec 2, 2009, with the support of the Association for India's Development. The resolution was introduced by Stephen Volan and co-sponsored by Dave Rollo.
