Bhopal Anniversary Film Screening at Ann Arbor

At the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, the Residential College Sustainability Forum and the student government's Peace and Justice Commission hosted a film showing (The Bhopal Survivors' Story, 2004). There was with a brief talk at the beginning by an environmental justice/environmental literature professor, Dr. Virginia Murphy, and a discussion afterward with a fellow student who visited Old Bhopal and the Sambhavna clinic last year. Approximately 15 students attended- not the best turnout, but that's 15 more who know about Bhopal!

In the days leading up to the event, students from the Sustainability Forum posted images from http://www.bhopal.net/masks.html around campus, including the Dow-funded Chemistry and Natural Resources buildings.

After the event, a few students expressed interest in organizing a 'field trip' to Midland, Michigan, to see Dow's headquarters.
